The Clash of the Carolinas track meet delivered a thrilling spectacle of athleticism on March 8th, as 39 schools from North and South Carolina converged for a high-stakes showdown. The competition, held amidst fierce rivalry, showcased the region’s top high school track and field talent. Fort Mill emerged as the top team from York county as the girls finished second overall and secured three first-place finishes, including standout performances by Mia Williams in the Girls Long Jump and both the boys and girls 4x800m relay teams who set new meet records.
Northwestern’s Austin Smith blazed to victory in the Boys 400 Meters, while Catawba Ridge’s Zachary Webster launched a winning throw in the Boys Discus. Rock Hill’s Khamoni Rockeymore-Crews sprinted to a 4th place finish in the 100 meter dash, and Nation Ford’s Neale Johnson leaped to 2nd place in the boys long jump, contributing to a day filled with exceptional achievements.
