Fort Mill Wrestling Sends Record Nine Wrestlers to State Championship

FORT MILL, S.C. – The Fort Mill High School wrestling team continues to make history, qualifying a record nine individual wrestlers for the upcoming South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) State Wrestling Championships. This marks one of the program’s strongest showings in recent years, solidifying Fort Mill’s reputation as a powerhouse in high school wrestling.

The following Yellow Jackets wrestlers punched their tickets to the state championships:

  • Brody Harris (106 lbs)
  • Luke Van Beynum (113 lbs)
  • Grayson Wallen (126 lbs)
  • Lincoln Greene (138 lbs)
  • Broden Mitcheson (157 lbs)
  • Ted Ernst (175 lbs)
  • Maurice Lawrence (190 lbs)
  • Kristian Villatoro (215 lbs)
  • Jonathan Da Silva (285 lbs) – Upper State Champion

Jonathan Da Silva led the charge by claiming an Upper State Championship in the heavyweight division (285 lbs), setting the stage for a strong showing at the state level. His dominant performance underscores Fort Mill’s depth across multiple weight classes.

Fort Mill’s wrestlers will now prepare for the SCHSL State Wrestling Championships next weekend, where they will face the best competitors from across South Carolina.
