They initiate unsolicited phone calls, appearing to originate from official Google numbers, and inform recipients of alleged unauthorized access attempts on their Gmail accounts. Following the call, victims receive emails that closely mimic official Google correspondence, urging them to use a provided code to recover their accounts. However, engaging with these prompts grants attackers access to the users’ email accounts and potentially other linked services, such as bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets.
