The Tega Cay Men’s Golf Association’s annual Turkey Classic, held on Saturday, November 23rd, at the Tega Cay Golf Course, brought together golf enthusiasts for a day of camaraderie and competition. Blessed with nice weather and pristine course conditions, the event was a resounding success, featuring strong play and impressive scores throughout the day.
The tournament followed a 4-man scramble/captain’s choice format, providing an exciting round for all participants.
Handicap Flight Results:
- 1st Place: Tim Wyatt, Paul Liles, Michael Clyburn, and Tyler Birchfield clinched victory with a Net 52, winning via a scorecard playoff with a stellar back 9 score of Net 27.
- Tied for 2nd Place:
- Bobby Bolin, Bryan Voss, Brian Sandon, and Kelly Byerley (Net 52, back 9 Net 28).
- Chris Leonard, Jay Smith, Kenny Cabiness, and Joe Marcsik (Net 52, back 9 Net 28).
- 4th Place: Ryan Turchin, Jim Mowery, Brian Hyer, and Tom Hyslip finished just one stroke back with a Net 53.
- Gross Score Winner: Chuck Kelker, Chuck Smith, Ty Lefler, and Neil Kelker recorded an impressive Gross 55 to take first place.
Open Flight Results:
- 1st Place: Brian, Nick, Mathieu, and Joey Curtis led the pack with a Gross 57.
- 2nd Place: Josh Lee, Chris Haring, Chris Aitken, and Scott Kessling secured second with a Gross 60.
