Amazon has announced a significant enhancement to its Music Unlimited service by incorporating a new benefit for subscribers: access to one free audiobook per month from Audible’s extensive library. This initiative aims to provide users with a more comprehensive audio experience, combining music streaming with audiobooks.
The integration allows Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to select one audiobook each month from Audible’s vast collection, which boasts over one million titles. This move positions Amazon competitively against other streaming services, such as Spotify, which introduced a similar audiobook feature for its Premium users last year.
Amazon Music Unlimited offers ad-free access to more than 100 million songs and a wide range of podcasts. The addition of monthly audiobooks enhances the service’s value proposition, catering to users who enjoy both music and spoken-word content.
The subscription is priced at $9.99 per month for Amazon Prime members and $10.99 for non-Prime customers. Subscribers can enjoy their selected audiobook throughout the month, with the option to continue the same title into the next month if not completed. However, access to the audiobook is contingent upon maintaining an active subscription; if the subscription is canceled or paused, access to the audiobook is revoked.
This strategic enhancement reflects Amazon’s commitment to enriching its Music Unlimited service, offering subscribers a diverse and immersive audio experience that seamlessly blends music and literature.
