Humane Society of York County – Pets of the Week

  • This strikingly handsome boy is Rucifie!
  • He came into the HSYC as an owner surrender!
  • We often say they all have their stories and what we’ve learned is Rucifie wasn’t treated very nicely in the past so he’s looking for a calmer patient home.
    • We initially thought he wouldn’t do well with others but given the right personality and transition time…. Showing anything is possible.
    • Recent updates find Rucifie enjoying his free time in play with our friend Tommy – https://www.facebook.com/HSYC.animals/videos/884352103831443
      • They both take a little time to adjust and must see that in each other as they blossomed in play together!!!
      • We love seeing transitions like this.
  • Just to put it into perspective: Rucifie has been at the HSYC a little over 8 months. He is estimated to be almost 1.5 years old.
  • He is a seal point mix – strikingly handsome, funny and loveable.
  • He is neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and tested.
  • Don’t let him wait another day, call 803-802-0902 to make an appointment TODAY!
  • Our adoption requirements and process can be found on our website at www.thehsyc.

  • Calling all to help us spread the news to find Hope’s TRUE FURever!
  • This stunner needs a good bit of HOPE …  she’s been at the HSYC as a temporary furfriend for over 5 years!!!!
    • More of her life has been spent at the rescue! So very sad!
  • This girl is a beautiful chocolate-brown terrier mix with a fabulous ear-to-ear smile – especially if you have a ball to play with!
  • HSYC took in Hope from Animal Control in urgent need. She arrived emaciated and in such bad condition that we weren’t sure she’d make it.
    • But look at her now….
    • Hope was just over a year old when the HSYC first got involved.
    • After allot of love and care from the HSYC team, she is a healthy, playful girl now.
    • Unfortunately, she was adopted and returned…
      • She has now spent much of her adult life at the shelter – which is so sad for this loveable girl.
    • She is long overdue in finding her TRUE forever home!
    • She Is estimated to be just over 7 years old at about a sturdy 70 pounds.
      • She is considered a medium-size girl, strong and would do best with a dog-savvy person, couple or family where she’s the only pet.
  • Hope is a favorite at the HSYC with both staff and volunteers.
  • She adores her field trips. She’s a terrific car rider, and always so grateful to grab a burger for lunch while out and about!
  • She dearly loves her walks and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of an active forever family that enjoys including her in their lives!
  • Hope is a cuddle bug to boot – no lap too small.
  • She loves to play and just wants a home and family to call her own.
  • If you’re looking for a loving, beautiful one-and-only canine, come meet Hope TODAY!
  • Call to make an appointment @ 803-802-0902.
  • Our Adoption parameters can be found on our website www.humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org.
