This weekend, October 10–13, Winthrop University in Rock Hill will host the prestigious United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) for the 26th consecutive year, bringing the world’s best disc golfers to York County. Alongside the competition, the event will feature the “Fresh & Now” concert series and the Championship Village festival, offering free nightly concerts, over 40 vendors, food trucks, and kids’ activities. Themed events such as Family Adventure Day enhance the festival atmosphere, creating a community-centered experience for all ages.
The USDGC, held at Winthrop’s Arena Course, is one of the premier events in disc golf, drawing thousands of spectators and fans from around the country. Spectators can catch the final hour of competition each day for free starting at 5 p.m., followed by live concerts at 6 p.m., blending high-energy music with the thrill of the sport.

Tickets for the full event start at $25, children age 10 and under are free with a ticketed adult. All active-duty military and veterans are free with ID. While the evening festivities remain free, allowing York County residents and visitors to participate in this unique mix of competition and celebration. Each day offers a different festival theme, ranging from family-friendly activities to live painting, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The festival is expected to draw thousands of fans, offering a major boost to the local economy as hotels, restaurants, and businesses prepare for the influx of visitors. The USDGC, with its blend of sports and entertainment, further cements York County’s reputation as a destination for both competitive and recreational events.
