Fort Mill, S.C. — Fall is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors, and from October 11-13, families and nature lovers can do just that during the October Campout being held in Gateway Park at the Anne Springs Close Greenway. With fall colors, cool night air, and cozy campfires, this weekend event is sure to be fun for all ages.
The event kicks off Friday, October 11, with campers arriving between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Friday night also features the popular Night Owl 5K, where participants can either race or cheer on friends at the finish line. Campers staying through the weekend can enjoy a variety of activities on Saturday, including a hay-bale maze, wagon slide, s’mores, and the Night Light Hike focused on owls.
New for 2024, race registration for the Night Owl 5K includes Friday night camping for one person, with discounted rates available for the entire weekend.

- Check-out: By 10:00 a.m. on your last morning
Campers should bring their own meals to cook over the communal fire pits or enjoy dinner at the Gateway Canteen, where beer and wine will be available for purchase. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed and well-behaved, and campers are reminded to practice Leave No Trace principles.
Tent camping only is allowed—no campers, trailers, or RVs—and firewood will be provided. Outside alcohol and glass containers are prohibited.
