Collection crews will follow the schedule as weather permits. Weather or other unforeseen circumstances may cause a delay in the schedule. We will attempt to notify residents through the City’s website and Facebook as these occasions occur.
Our Collection Policy:
➢ When placing your leaves or debris at the street do not put them in the road as this impairs the stormwater flow and motor vehicle traffic, especially emergency and service vehicles and school buses from being able to safely travel the roads. Placing your debris piles in the street may result in a ticket or fine. Please pile your leaves at the back edge of the road or curb in front of your home and city staff will be able to collect them. Only Leaves in leaf piles. Never place foreign objects in leaf piles. Residents may be responsible for damages from hidden objects.
➢ If you live on a common driveway, please coordinate with your neighbors who have road frontage as to a convenient place for you to place loose or bagged leaves and brush piles. Bagged leaves and brush piles will still be collected weekly in all areas of the City.
➢ Do not place leaves or branches in your trash or recycle carts or any other container other than a bag. Doing so will cause your items not to be collected that week.
➢ When placing brush piles out for collection, make sure they are less than 4’ in length.
➢ If you are placing more than one item at the curb for collection, please separate your piles so that the collection process can be as efficient as possible (ex. Separate brush piles away from your leaf piles). If the piles are too close or mixed together it will delay the collection schedule.
➢ When possible, we ask that you put your leaves out the weekend before your scheduled week of collection.
➢ If you have a contractor doing the work (pruning, mowing, taking down trees, or raking/blowing your leaves) they should haul all debris away with them. They are also required to have a City of Tega Cay Business License.
