Aldi to Hire 13,000 Workers, Raises Starting Pay to $23 an Hour

Aldi has announced its plans to hire 13,000 new employees while increasing wages, positioning itself as a leading employer in the retail industry. With the holiday season approaching, the grocery chain continues to expand, opening new locations and strengthening its workforce. Aldi’s starting wage for store employees is set at $18 per hour, while warehouse workers will start at $23 per hour, depending on the market and position.

Aldi offers attractive benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and flexible scheduling for those working more than 30 hours per week. In response to employee feedback, the company has recently introduced fully paid parental and caregiver leave, a significant step in improving work-life balance for its employees.

Aldi has long been known for its internal promotion practices, with a large percentage of its management team starting in entry-level positions. For example, 7 out of 10 assistant store managers and over 30% of store managers began as sales associates. Aldi also provides career growth opportunities in departments like human resources, buying, and supply chain management.

The hiring campaign is being launched as part of National Hiring Week, which runs from September 9 through September 15. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply on the Aldi careers website, where they may be invited to attend hiring events across the country.

This new hiring initiative comes at a crucial time, as Aldi continues to grow, having opened more than 2,300 stores since its U.S. debut in 1976. Its expansion aims to meet increasing consumer demand, while its employment benefits reflect the company’s commitment to offering competitive wages and career development opportunities for its workforce.
