The Town of Fort Mill is gearing up to celebrate its 10th Annual Scarecrow Crawl, set to take place from October 4 to 31 in Downtown Fort Mill. This exciting community event invites residents and visitors alike to stroll through the downtown area and admire the impressive Scarecrow displays crafted by individuals, schools, businesses, organizations, and churches.
Registration to participate in the Scarecrow Crawl is free and open until September 6. Those interested in entering a Scarecrow can find rules, registration details, and sponsor applications on the Town of Fort Mill’s website at fortmillsc.gov/348/Scarecrow-Crawl. Please note that there is a limited number of entries allowed, so early registration is encouraged. Scarecrow installation will take place from September 27 through October 3.
Participants will have the chance to compete in a variety of categories, including Most Fort Mill Spirit, Most Creative, Best School, Best Individual/Family, Best Name, Most Complex, and Best Overall. A panel of judges will vote on these categories, while the public can cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award by liking their favorite Scarecrow on the Town’s Facebook page between October 11 and 28.
In addition to People’s Choice, winners will be chosen for Best Sponsor and Town of Fort Mill Best Department Scarecrow. The announcement of winners will be made on the Town of Fort Mill’s social media platforms on October 29.
