Tega Cay Police Department Honored for DUI Enforcement Excellence

The Tega Cay Police Department received top honors at the 2023 South Carolina DUI Enforcement Recognition and 2023 Law Enforcement Target Zero Challenge held in Columbia. The department was awarded Agency of the Year for departments with 11-25 officers, and Sergeant Joshua Bowling was named Officer of the Year in the same category.

Chief of Police Steve Crosby and Sgt. Bowling attended the ceremony, which featured special remarks by NASCAR driver Ross Chastain. The annual event recognizes law enforcement agencies and officers for their outstanding contributions to DUI enforcement and commitment to reducing traffic fatalities.

“These prestigious awards acknowledge the department’s unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety of our community through DUI enforcement,” said Chief Crosby. “I am immensely proud of Sgt. Bowling and his dedication to DUI enforcement. This recognition is well-deserved and a testament to his hard work and passion.”

The awards highlight the Tega Cay Police Department’s proactive approach to addressing impaired driving and its commitment to creating safer roads for residents and visitors alike.

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety’s annual DUI Enforcement Recognition and Target Zero Challenge ceremony honors law enforcement personnel and agencies for their efforts in DUI enforcement and participation in the Target Zero Challenge, an initiative aimed at eliminating traffic fatalities in the state.
