The much-anticipated renovations and updates to the Glennon Center have officially begun, marking the start of a comprehensive revitalization project that will enhance both the exterior and interior of the facility.
Exterior Renovations:
The exterior of the Glennon Center is set to undergo a significant transformation. The renovation team has outlined a detailed plan that includes:
- Painting the Exterior: The entire building, including the connection to the clubhouse, will receive a fresh coat of paint. Caulking will be done as needed.
- Stucco and Columns: The foundation and columns will be repaired or replaced and then painted the same color. The handrails and railings at the front will also be prepped and painted.
- Molding and Soffit Repairs: Molding on all columns will be repaired using no-rot base and crown materials, and then painted. Soffits and fascia at the front right and left of the porch will be repaired, along with any necessary reworking of the gutter and roof interface.
- Decorative Panel and Trim Repairs: The decorative panel on the right side of the porch will be repaired. Approximately 20 windows will have their rotten trim replaced with no-rot trim.
- Ground Transition and Wall Sealing: The stucco/ground transition contact area will be repaired, and a hole in the exterior wall at the banquet office will be sealed.
- Portico and Mechanical Yard: The portico columns will be repaired and painted, and window trim around the mechanical yard will be addressed, saving the top unless rotten.
- Back Porch and Steps: Rotten wood on the lower back porch area columns and trim will be repaired and painted. Columns near the center back porch steps and soffits will also be repaired and painted.
- Railings and Siding: The railings on the center back steps will be prepped and painted, and the lower base trim on the upper back porch near the side steps will be repaired using Hardie board. Side step railings and upper porch window trim will also be prepped and painted. Additionally, siding in the rear mechanical area will be repaired.
Interior Upgrades:
John Weinbrenner, owner of the Shore Club, has stepped in to enhance the interior of the Shore Club. He has purchased new tables and chairs for the dining room, as well as hi-top tables for the bar. Furthermore, he is overseeing a fresh painting project in both the bar and dining rooms to ensure a modern and inviting atmosphere for guests.
These extensive renovations and updates are expected to significantly improve the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the Glennon Center, providing an enhanced experience for all visitors. The project is set to be completed in the coming months, with the community eagerly anticipating the refreshed facility.
