Brian Howell enjoys being outside. “I’ve always had a passion for anything outdoors. I’m an avid camper and mountain climber. If there’s anything to do outside, I’ll do it.”
When he was discharged from the Army, where he worked as a combat engineer and served a tour in Afghanistan, he was able to take that love of the outdoors and turn it into a business. Shortly after meeting his future wife Anastacia, the couple founded Howell Landscape and Design Group.
In business since 2013, they were able to secure a Tega Cay business license in 2015. By 2020, the family had secured something else. A new address within the Tega Cay city limits.
In the somewhat short time they’ve lived here, they’ve been active with volunteer efforts in our community. The couple hosts the Annual Brunswick Stew Cook Off held at Tega Cay Tavern. The Howells, along with Tavern owner Stephen Westbrook and EMS board member Frank McCollum, helped raise over $10K last year with 100% of the proceeds going to the Fort Mill EMS. They’re also sponsoring a movie night in Runde Park this August.
Anastacia is active with Tega Cay Elementary, where two of her three children currently go to school. She co-chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which is part of the larger PTO.
Howell Landscape and Design has been well received within the community. Brian mentioned they have serviced the greater Charlotte area in the past but have recently been able to focus solely on jobs within Tega Cay due to local support. As a thank you, the company is offering free consultations to residents within city limits (a $100 savings).
For those of us who have a smaller outdoor job but don’t quite know how to tackle it, the team at Howell is now offering an exciting new option called Premier Patio Packs.
Recently launched, this new venture will provide an easy way for customers to order pre packaged patio, fire pit and/or seating wall kits. You’re provided with the option to purchase one or all three depending on your needs and preference.
Meant to be customer friendly, the Premier Patio Packs website has been designed to offer a subset of popular options. This provides an ability to choose what you want from a condensed list rather than being overwhelmed with the different materials and choices found at big box stores.
You simply enter the length and width of the space you’d like to place your patio/fire pit/wall seating, choose from the pre-selected options offered and make your purchase. A package will arrive on your doorstep with all the materials you’ll need to complete the job on your own.
Think you may need help with the installation? No problem. The Premier Patio Packs site will offer this as an option during checkout. Even if you’ve started the job and don’t have the ability to finish, you can return to your original order and request to have someone assist you with the installation.
Although this product is being offered within Tega Cay initially, the end goal is to push Premier Patio Packs to a nationwide audience. Both Brian and Anastacia see this as a more economically feasible option for many people. This will allow them to reach a wider audience while helping the community by offering a unique product.

Personally, I was excited to hear about Premier Patio Packs. It sounds like a great idea and one that I really think will catch on.
Having said that, I was equally excited to hear they offer installation.
