Buzz’s 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss: Bringing Joy to Fort Mill with Every Toss!

FORT MILL, SC – Get ready for an event that promises fun and philanthropy all rolled into one! On January 23, 2024, the halftime show at the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets versus Nation Ford High School Boys Varsity Basketball game will feature Buzz’s 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss, an event that’s quickly becoming a cherished local tradition.

Attendees are encouraged to bring new stuffed animals to the game for the Teddy Bear Toss. With each donated animal, you’ll receive a raffle ticket, increasing your chances to win a range of exciting prizes. The first 50 fans to arrive with their cuddly donations will also receive a free round of mini-golf at Mr. Putty’s Fun Park, adding an extra incentive to come early and support the cause.

The event isn’t just about the thrill of the game or the fun of tossing teddy bears; it’s about the community coming together to support Hugaroo, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Fort Mill. Hugaroo’s mission is poignant and powerful: providing new stuffed animals to children who have faced life-threatening illnesses, traumatic events, or are at risk. With operations extending across the Charlotte metro area, neighboring states, and even reaching into seven states nationwide, Hugaroo’s impact is both deep and wide.

The prizes for the raffle are as exciting as the event itself, featuring vouchers, gift cards, and certificates from an array of beloved local and national businesses. From Southwest Airlines to SUPER CHIX Fort Mill, and Inizio Pizza to Nothing Bundt Cakes, the array of sponsors is a testament to the community’s support for the cause. Other participants include Tega Cay Gourmet Deli, The Greek Grill – SC, small hands big art, and many more, with additional sponsors and prizes being added as the event nears.

To participate, simply bring a new stuffed animal in a clear plastic bag. If you don’t have one on hand, no worries! Stuffed animals will be available for purchase at the event with a $10 donation to Hugaroo, Inc. The beauty of the Teddy Bear Toss is that you don’t need to be present to win in the raffle, but everyone who donates is guaranteed a raffle ticket, with various ways to enter and win.
