TEGA CAY, SC – Janice L Hadley, 86, of Tega Cay, SC ( formerly of Hendersonville, NC) passed on to her heavenly home on November 12th, 2023 at Wellmore Retirement Community.
Janice graduated in 1955 from vocational high school in Minneapolis, MN with a concentration in cosmetology. She continued her career as a cosmetologist until 1959 when she and her family moved to Wisconsin. Janice’s passion for service and dedication to her family continued her entire life. Her skills included sewing, quilting (loved her Friday morning quilting group) and needle crafts which included making wedding dresses for 3 of her daughters. Her love of service included many years as teacher assistant with Karen Garcia at Immaculata Catholic School, meals on wheels, pink lady, FISH, IAM and a literacy tutor as well as many charitable endeavors with her faith community. Janice was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church for 51 years as well as St Philip Neri Catholic Church following her move to SC. She was proceeded in death by her parents Byrl and Rose Jones, her husband of 61 years, Thomas Hadley and her son in law, Kenny Duncan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her 6 children, Kathy Greene (Mike), Ann Duncan, Barb Boheler (Marshall), Mary Jane Van Lanen ( Bob), Mark Hadley (Jennifer) and Kristin Schmoldt (Rob); 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren that she enjoyed being a grandmother and a GiGi to.
A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:00am on Monday, November 20th. Receiving of friends will be at the church prior to the service.
Her family is eternally grateful for the love and compassion shown to her by Delores Sibley, her friend and caretaker.
