A. Joseph Pringle
February 19, 1935 – October 21, 2023
Tega Cay, South Carolina – A. Joseph Pringle, age 88, formerly of Indian Land, SC, and Charlotte, NC, died on October 21, 2023, at Wellmore in Tega Cay, SC.
He was born February 19, 1935, in Greensboro, NC. He is predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Patricia Norris Pringle, and his parents, Dr. Alonzo J. Pringle II and Maurine Tuttle Pringle. He is survived by his sons, Alan and Greg Pringle, daughter-in-law Sharon Pringle, and grandchildren Caroline and Andrew Pringle.
Joe graduated from Curry High School in Greensboro, NC, where he played football and basketball, and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked for 36 years at First-Citizens Bank, where he retired as a senior vice president. He was a past president of the Consumer Credit Division of the NC Bankers Association.
He attended Forest Hill Church for more than 50 years, where he served on the Board of Deacons and Greeting Committee, and then he joined Moments of Hope Church. He was also past president and a board member of the Sportsman’s Club of Charlotte.
Joe enjoyed his family and grandchildren, friends, sports (particularly the UNC Tar Heels), traveling, music and sports trivia, and life in general. He had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger.
Funeral services and memorial will be at Moments of Hope Church, 709-A International Drive, Charlotte, NC, 28270 on Thursday October 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
