Mark your calendar for August 4, starting at 12 a.m., until August 6, ending at 11:59 p.m. This tax-free weekend lasts for a total of 72 hours, giving you ample time to take advantage of the benefits.
During this period, you can enjoy a sales tax exemption on various items, including computers, printers, school supplies, clothing and accessories, shoes, as well as specific bed and bath items. Whether you prefer shopping online or in physical stores, you won’t have to pay the usual 6% state Sales Tax on these eligible items.
Last year, South Carolina shoppers saved a whopping $26.2 million on tax-free purchases during this special weekend, as reported by SCDOR.
